President of Iran

Sir Teddy Taylor: To ask the Prime Minister on what dates in the last two years he received letters from the President of Iran; and on what dates he replied to them.

The Prime Minister: I received a letter dated 30 May 1995 from President Rafsanjani. The letter did not require a reply.

Policy Unit (Costs)

Dr. Wright: To ask the Prime Minister if he will list the cost of the No. 10 policy unit for each year since 1980-81 in (a) cash prices and (b) 1994-95 prices.

The Prime Minister: The cost of the policy unit was not accounted for separately before 1987-88. Expenditure from 1987-88 is listed in cash prices and 1994-95 prices.

Departmental Staff

Dr. Wright: To ask the Prime Minister if he will list the number of staff in his office at the beginning of each financial year from 1990 to 1995, expressed as (a) full-time equivalents, (b) head count of numbers of staff employed and (c) identify separately the number of staff in office service support grades either as full-time equivalents or as head count for the same years.

Breast Cancer Campaign

Ms Corston: To ask the Prime Minister when he will be in a position to report the precise number of postcards he has received in support of the national postcard campaign for breast cancer.

The Prime Minister: I refer the hon. Member to the reply that I gave to the hon. Member for Falkirk, West (Mr. Canavan) on 16 October, Official Report, column 23.
