PRIME MINISTER:

Public Bodies (Appointments)

Mr. John Evans : To ask the Prime Minister if he will list the former hon. Members who have been appointed since June 1987 to bodies to which Government Ministers make appointments; and what are the emoluments, remuneration and salaries of the individuals concerned.

The Prime Minister : The information is not held centrally and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.

Mr. Clelland : To ask the Prime Minister if he will list the former hon. Members of the House who have been appointed to bodies to which Government Ministers make appointments together with the salaries, emoluments or honoraria paid to the former hon. Members concerned, since April 1992.

The Prime Minister : The information requested is not held centrally and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.


10 Downing Street (Catering)

Mr. Austin Mitchell : To ask the Prime Minister when catering for No. 10 Downing street was put out to contract; if this took place by public tender; how many tenders were received; and how long the contract will run.

The Prime Minister : There is no single contract for catering for 10 Downing street. Catering for official functions in 10 Downing street is usually arranged by the Government hospitality fund using outside contractors.


Inhumane Weapons

Mr. Cohen : To ask the Prime Minister if he will now make it his policy to arrange ratification of the 1977 additional protocols to the Geneva conventions and the 1981 inhumane weapons convention at the earliest possible opportunity.

The Prime Minister : We expect to reach decisions soon on ratification of both the additional protocols and the 1981 United Nations weaponry convention.


Engagements

Mr. Harry Greenway : To ask the Prime Minister if he will list his official engagements for Tuesday 9 March.

Sir Peter Tapsell : To ask the Prime Minister if he will list his official engagements for Tuesday 9 March.

The Prime Minister : This morning I had meetings with ministerial colleagues and others. In addition to my duties in the House I shall be having further meetings later today.
